Poverty Monitoring Website for Tanzania HOME SITE MAP ADDRESS Welcome to the website of Tanzania's Poverty Monitoring System This website features the outputs of Tanzania's Poverty Monitoring System, which was developed to enable the government and other stakeholders measure the impact of poverty reduction initiatives in the country. Launched at Poverty Policy Week 2004, the website is intended to increase the capacity of stakeholders to access vital information on progress being achieved in poverty reduction. Such progress has been documented on an annual basis in the PRS progress reports. Check downloadable documents for these and other reports. The website is constantly updated to reflect important developments around the PRS. In particular is a just concluded extensive review that has led to the preparation of the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP) known by its Kiswahili acronym, MKUKUTA. During the just concluded review, the website was used in a national public opinion survey to collect views from Tanzanians living outside the country.
