About Us... The IPA implements policies and programs aimed at increasing total annual investments (including FDI), greater increases in non-mining sector investments and increasing the level of investments financed by the domestic sector.  The IPA is a statutory organisation established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament to promote and facilitate investment in Papua New Guinea. The purpose of the Investment Promotion Act, 1992 (the Act) is to among other things: i Promote & Facilitate investment in PNG i Provide for the granting of certificates for Foreign Enterprises i Define activities open to foreign investors; and i To provide for the register of foreign investment opportunities i To promote investments that will materially benefit the country and its people; i To monitor the impact of investments and the activities of enterprises; and i To establish the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) to assist the State in achieving the purpose specified.
