It is the first human rights education programme in the history of Nepal to be broadcasted through Radio Nepal. INSEC, which has been contributing for protection and promotion of democracy, human rights and multiparty system, started broadcasting the programme since January 21, 1995 to promote human rights education. The formation of 'Human Rights Education Radio Listeners' Club'- association of thousands of human rights defenders in 73 districts of the country- is the testimony to the popularity of the programme. In the beginning we had been informing people, who were unfamiliar of human rights, about our different rights, the rights guaranteed by national and international laws and the state has the responsibility to fulfill such rights and that the state can not escape from its responsibility.
